Administrators can bypass an employee's signature during the any phase in the performance management cycle by clicking Bypass Employee Signature. This offers flexibility when a signature isn't feasible or needed. Administrators can also remove a bypassed signature to keep the system accurate and up to date.
- Open the performance plan.
- Use the plan navigation bar or navigate to the appropriate phase within the plan for which a signature bypass is necessary.
Planning Phase
- Navigate to Part 1. Employee Input or click Employee Input from the navigation bar.
Click Bypass Employee Signature next to the corresponding employee signature box.
- Use the Signature Bypass Reason drop down to select the appropriate reason for the bypass including:
- Refused to sign
- Unable to sign
- Detail
- On leave
- Active Duty
- Other
Click Yes, Bypass Employee Signature or No, Cancel to confirm the action.
- The administrator’s name and bypass reason will be documented.
- Scroll to Part 10. For Agency Use and click Edit. Annotate the employee’s refusal or inability to sign the plan in the text box with the name and title of the employee. You will be asked to confirm your action. Click Save, Save and Close, or Close Without Saving.
Monitoring Phase
- Navigate to Part 2. Progress Review or click Progress Review from the navigation bar.
Click Bypass Employee Signature next to the corresponding employee signature box.
- Use the Signature Bypass Reason drop down to select the appropriate reason for the bypass.
- Click Yes, Bypass Employee Signature or No, Cancel to confirm the action.
- The administrator’s name and bypass reason will be documented.
- Scroll to Part 10. For Agency Use and click Edit. Annotate the employee’s refusal or inability to sign the plan in the text box with the name and title of the employee. You will be asked to confirm your action. Click Save, Save and Close, or Close Without Saving.
Rating Phase
- Navigate to Part 5. Rating Signatures or click Rating Signatures from the navigation bar.
Click Bypass Employee Signature next to the corresponding employee signature box.
- Use the Signature Bypass Reason drop down to select the appropriate reason for the bypass.
- Click Yes, Bypass Employee Signature or No, Cancel to confirm the action.
- The administrator’s name and bypass reason will be documented.
- Scroll to Part 10. For Agency Use and click Edit. Annotate the employee’s refusal or inability to sign the plan in the text box with the name and title of the employee. You will be asked to confirm your action. Click Save, Save and Close, or Close Without Saving.
Undo Bypass Employee Signature
The option to undo the bypass will only appear in the planning and monitoring phase.
To remove the bypass to allow for employee signature, click Undo Bypass of Employee Signature. Click Yes, Undo Bypass Employee Signature to confirm the action.
