Performance plans can be created by employees, rating officials, or administrators via task links or the Performance Plans tab. The tab shows only employees assigned to a specific rating cycle and template. Once the plan is created, the users can also copy plans from another employee or past years, subject to system conditions.
- From the Dashboard, click Performance Plans.
- Select Non-SES from the Plan Type drop-down. Click Generate Plans.

Under the Phase column, click Create Plan next to the employee’s name.

Click, Yes, Create Plan, to confirm the action.

The performance plan will populate.
- The plan will open. To develop the plan, either follow guidance to import plan information from a previous year, import plan from another employee, or proceed to editing current performance elements.
Import Plan from Previous Year
- When you open the plan, the system will ask if you want to import data from a previous year's performance plan. If you choose to import, the system will transfer the content automatically, letting you update it for the current period.

A preview of the plan will be displayed. If the plan is accurate, please click Yes, Import and Save to use the plan from the previous performance cycle. If the plan is not accurate, click No, Do Not Import.
- The performance plan will populate, importing the previous plan information.

Review the plan, edit as applicable and click Save.
Import Plan from Another Employee Plan

When the plan opens, you can import from another employee plan if it uses the same performance plan template and rating official. Click Import from Another Plan.

The Import from Another Plan modal has been updated. Please select the employee from the dropdown menu for the plan you wish to import, then click Preview.
- A preview of the plan will appear. If the plan is accurate, click Yes, Import and Save. If not, click No, Do Not Import.
- The performance plan will populate, importing the other plan information.
- Review the plan, edit as applicable and click Save.
Import Plan Not Available
1. When the plan opens, the system will display an information link. Click ?Why can’t I copy the plan?

A message will appear stating the potential reasons preventing copying from another plan. Click OK to close.
