The Organizations Tree-View page provides administrators with a hierarchical, visual representation of their agency’s organizational structure. This view allows administrators to easily navigate through parent organizations, sub-organizations, and their associated employees and administrators.
It is used to manage organizational setup, assign administrators, create new organizational units, and view employee membership within each organization.
To access this page, click Admin in the navigation bar, then select Manage Organizations under System Configuration. The Organizations – Tree View tab defaults as open.
LEFT PANEL — Organizational Tree
Purpose:
Displays the agency’s full hierarchy in a collapsible “tree” structure, making it easy to locate, select, and manage organizations.
Organizational Tree (Hierarchy List): Shows each organization and its children using expandable/collapsible nodes.
Organization Node (Name + Code): Each node displays the organization name and its unique organization code Use: Select a node to populate the right panel with details.
Expand/Collapse Arrow: Allows toggling visibility of child organizations within the tree.
Create New Organization (Button): Opens the organization creation form to add a new top-level organization.
RIGHT PANEL — Organization Details
When an organization is selected from the tree, its details, employees, and administrators appear in the right panel.
Organization Header
Organization Name + Code: Identifies the currently selected organization. Example: Performance Management Agency (1234).
Edit (Button): Opens the organization’s profile for editing: name, code, parent assignment, etc.
Create Child Organization (Button): Creates a sub-organization under the currently selected parent organization.
Employees Section
Shows a list of users assigned to the selected organization.
Columns & Field Definitions:
Name: The user’s name; clicking opens their user profile.
Title: The employee’s position title (or N/A if none is stored).
Pay Plan–Series–Grade: Displays the employee’s classification (e.g., GS-0343-12, GS-11).
Position Description #: Shows the employee’s PD number if provided.
Agency Identifier: Displays agency-specific codes used for internal tracking (often N/A unless configured).
Pagination & Display Controls:
Showing 1 to X Users: Indicates how many employees are displayed.
Page Controls (<<, <, 1, >, >>): Navigate between pages of employees.
Display Records (Dropdown): Changes how many employees appear per page (e.g., 10, 25).
Administrators Section
Lists users with administrative permissions for the selected organization.
Columns & Field Definitions:
Name: Displays the administrator’s name; clickable for profile access.
Administrator For: Shows which organization(s) the user is authorized to administer.
Pagination Controls
Similar to the Employees section, used for navigating long admin lists.
