In preparation for possible higher-level review, the administrator may assign a default higher level reviewer in the user profile. The executive may request review by a higher-level executive before the initial summary rating is presented to the PRB.

- Click Admin.
Click Manage Users under Users & Permissions.
- The Manage Users tab will open.
Select the user to assign a higher-level reviewer from the Name column.
Click Performance Plans.
Select the Higher Level Reviewer to be assigned to the executive from the Higher-Level Review drop down. This selection is also available for inactive executive users.

Assign a Higher-Level Reviewer from Dashboard
The administrator will see a notification in the Tasks Requiring My Attention section showing the number of individuals needing assignment to a Non-SES Template. There are two types of tasks:
- Assign a Higher Level Reviewer: Displays when an executive requests a higher-level review but their profile does not have an assigned reviewer.
- Review Executives Awaiting a Higher-Level Review: This prompt appears when an executive requests a higher-level review, regardless of whether a reviewer is already assigned. It functions as a safeguard for administrators to confirm and update expired higher-level reviewer assignments.
On the Dashboard, find the Tasks Requiring My Attention section. Look for the task and click Assign a Higher-Level Reviewer -OR- Review Executives Awaiting a Higher-Level Review under Admin Tasks.
- The tab will open. Select the user from the Name column.
- The Personal Information tab will open. Click the Performance Plans tab.
- Navigate to the Plan Information section. Select the Higher Level Reviewer to be assigned to the executive from the Higher Level Reviewer drop down. This selection is also available for inactive executive users.
- Click Save. You will be asked to confirm your action.
Request a Higher-Level Review following Initial Summary Rating
- The executive will navigate to Part 3 – Summary Rating.
The executive will then select Request a Higher-Level Review.
- The executive will ensure all documents for review have been uploaded prior to selecting the checkbox.
- Once the executive selects Request a Higher-Level Review, confirms action and saves the plan, the senior executive initials will appear. A confirmation message will appear. This documents the executive’s signature and date so the senior executive performance plan may move forward for higher level review.
- If a higher-level reviewer has not been assigned, only the administrator will receive a dashboard task to Assign Higher Level Reviewer.
- The administrator will assign the higher-level reviewer from the executive’s profile completing the steps above.
- Once a higher-level reviewer is assigned to an executive, the higher-level reviewer will receive both an email and dashboard notification. The assigned higher-level reviewer will complete the higher-level review for the executive.
