To create a performance plan, users must first be assigned a template. Administrators may only assign users to templates that are in a complete status. Any user assigned to a template that is currently being edited will not be able to create a plan.
- Click Admin.
Click Assign Non-SES Template under Other Performance Configuration.
- The Assign Non-SES Template tab opens. It contains various fields and buttons, each serving a specific function. Below are descriptions to help you understand and use them effectively:
Template (Dropdown) – Allows administrators to select a Non-SES performance plan template. Once selected, the employee list automatically filters to display only those employees eligible for assignment to that template.
Show: Unassigned Employees – Displays only employees who do not currently have a template assigned, helping administrators quickly identify those needing assignment.
Show: Assigned Employees – Displays only employees who already have a template assigned, useful for reviewing or updating existing assignments.
Show: All Employees – Displays all employees regardless of template assignment status.
Select User(s) – Checkbox column used to select one or multiple employees for template assignment.
Name – Displays the employee’s full name.
Email – Displays the employee’s official government email address.
Organization – Shows the employee’s assigned organizational unit or office.
Pay Plan-Series-Grade – Indicates the employee’s pay plan and grade (e.g., GS-0304-05), ensuring the correct template aligns with employee classification.
Supervisory Code – Displays whether the employee holds a supervisory role (e.g., Non-supervisory, Supervisor).
Template (Column) – Shows which Non-SES template is currently assigned to the employee, if any.
Search (Field + Button) – Allows users to search for employees by name, email, or other identifiers.
Reset (Button) – Clears search filters and resets the employee list to default view.
Select All / Unselect All – Quickly selects or deselects all employees in the list.
Display Records – Controls how many employee records appear per page (e.g., 10, 25, 50).
Pagination Controls (First, Previous, Next, Last) – Enables navigation through multiple pages of employee records.
Assign Template (Button) – Applies the selected performance template to the chosen employees.
- Employee names will first populate by those without an assigned template and then by those with an assigned template.
- You may specifically filter to show unassigned employees, assigned employees or all employees.
- Select a template for assignment from the Template drop down. All templates under your purview and all templates associated with parent organizations should appear in the drop down. When you select one, only employees who are eligible to be assigned to that template appear in the table.
Locate the employee(s) for assignment by scrolling or utilizing Search. Select the Select User(s) check box to the left of the employee name(s) for which the template should be assigned.
Click Assign Template. You will receive a confirmation message.
